i4Health
The Institute for International Internet Interventions for Health is developing ways to provide health and mental health services to underserved communities using interactive and internet-aqccessible technology.
i4Health (Institute for International Internet Interventions for Health) was established in September 2012 under the direction of Professor Ricardo F. Muñoz. The Palo Alto University faculty, staff and students of i4Health are committed to developing ways of providing health and mental health services to underserved communities using interactive technology, including mobile Apps and internet-accessible interventions and resources.
Consistent with PAU's mission of engaging minds and improving lives, i4Health's goals are:
-
To contribute to the reduction of health disparities worldwide by developing and evaluating behavioral and mental health interventions that use Internet and mobile application technology
-
To design these interventions so they can be effective as self-help interventions used by people who do not have access to health care providers because of geographic or economic obstacles
-
For those who do have access to a therapist, to design the interventions that will improve outcomes when used concurrently with other treatment
-
To make the interventions so useful that health care providers will suggest them to their other patients
-
To make these interventions available to anyone around the world
